Looking to the Future: ‘New Economy, Meet New City’ Event

Unifi.id had the privilege to showcase and present at the ‘New Economy, Meet New City’ event in partnership with the Greater London Authority and Royal Albert Docks. This event brought together leaders and innovators within technology to tackle the growing question of the ‘New Economy’, and how sectors like AI, FinTech, and automation impacts current cities and the cities of the future. We were given the opportunity to be one of five leading companies to speak to business leaders, policymakers, and the public to demonstrate our innovation in the Automated Building Intelligence (ABI) sector. Making cities smarter is a large part of the drive towards sustainability and the push for net-zero. According to the McKinsey Global Institute, 70% of sustainable development goals can be advanced through smarter, greener technologies. The world is dynamically changing, and these changes call for optimised technologies that can deliver accurate results, particularly for sustainability. As automation reshapes the working world and the...

Unifi.id Attends the TLA & Interxion 5G Group Launch at City Hall

We are thrilled to have had the exclusive opportunity to attend the 5G Group Launch organised by Tech London Advocates (TLA) and Interxion. This launch provided information on the latest updates and development plans within the 5G sector. Not only that, but we were privileged to have the opportunity to hear from and liaise with leading industry experts, such as TLA founder Russ Shaw, surrounding the subject of 5G, a hot topic of technology. With global revenue potentially equalling $13.2 trillion and 22.3 million jobs being created by 2035, 5G is both a lucrative and exciting technology premise for the future economy. Not only that, but the integration of 5G networks presents unique challenges for building management. High-rise buildings in particular suffer from poor connectivity, due to a mixture of building materials and height restricting signals from reaching phones on higher floors. That means that as connectivity speeds continue to rise...

Delivering Smarter Buildings in China

Following Unifi.id’s Hangzhou win this week the Gongshu government have not only matched the prize amount given to Unifi.id from the Hangzhou government, but they've also included numerous other incentives in order to fast-track Unifi.id’s establishment in China. The Gongshu government clearly recognises the positive impact that Unifi.id’s technology will have on the high-rise building sector and are handing over two buildings to Unifi.id to deploy our cutting-edge technology immediately.   Furthermore, it is both the Gongshu Government’s and our intention, to engage with the district fire services to illustrate to them the beneficial impact that Unifi.id will have on optimising the evacuation of high-rise buildings.   The Gongshu and Hangzhou governments are aligned to ensure that the current limitations faced by their fire chiefs when they attempt to evacuate in high-rise buildings are eliminated. We will work together to make Hangzhou the world's first city where fire services know, in real-time as soon as a fire alarm is triggered, exactly how many people are in a building, where people with mobility constraints are located and where their firefighters are, as they work their way through the building.   Through our Artificial Intelligence technology, we will be able to inform how long, based on all variables, how...

China Embraces Unifi.id Solutions

The Hangzhou and Gongshu Government in China has exclusively chosen Unifi.id as the first company to award major grants to in Hangzhou. With these grants, they have honoured the idea of opening up a China HQ for Unifi.id.   The new exclusive agreement, which promises rent-free offices along with sustainable grants, provides Unifi.id the ability to rapidly grow in China. Unifi.id has been pursuing the prospect of opening a China HQ for a while, as China’s long-term visions align with that of Unifi.id’s, one especially orientated around safety and security.   China seems to be taking extremely seriously the inherent safety issues that are present in all high-rise buildings globally. They are constantly showing a firm interest in matters of security for their high-rise buildings that Unifi.id is able to supply.   The government also sees the urgent need to lower carbon footprint sustainability. This has again resulted in them working with Unifi.id to assess all...

GDPR and Loyalty: Time to reset engagement

GDPR and Loyalty: Time to reset engagement The deadline for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) implementation is fast approaching, 25 May 2018 to be exact. Our deadlines to adjust and adapt to the new rules introduced still has many retailers and businesses scratching their heads, wondering what exactly GDPR wants us to do and how we can do it. In this article, I discuss the issues retailers are facing and the advantages that the new regulation will bring.   For retailers globally, GDPR is a daunting prospect that needs addressing. Retailers are required to adapt and modify their current set ups to accommodate the new regulations and failure to adhere to the GDPR regulations may well result in financial and reputational consequences.   Data collected is no longer aligned with the spirit of the new rules The biggest issues that retailers face surround the vast swathes of data collected from loyalty cards and the reality...
